I just received the following email advertising various BRW components from Brazil:

"Dear Sir Do you have interesting to buy Brazilian Rosewood guitar kits ? I am from Brazil ! Brazilian rosewood guitar kits price list : . fingerboards straight grain=vertical grain : U$ 20,00 . fingerboards flamed : U$ 15,00 . fingerboards very dark : U$ 26,00 . head stock veneer : U$ 5,00 . bridge blanks : U$ 5,00 . back and sides : between U$ 200,00 to U$ 600,00 This prices plus shipping ! I can send pictures !!! Do you have interesting ? Best regards Matheus email : hardwoodsbrasil@hotmail.c"

I was curious as to whether I am part of a mass mailing which I believe was generated from Guitarmaker magazine. Has anyone else received this? Also, is what this guy selling legal?

Dear all, I have interesting in more Brazilion Rosewood kits. Is this prices plus shipping? I am from US!

Ok, that's not nice. Normally, I limit my purchases to a few sets, maybe 3-5. I can't imagine what the shipping would be on a thousand sets, a million, or even a zillion sets--but to imagine somebody is actually willing to ship a brazilian sets of wood? Just think of the cost. Heck, a million bridge blanks at $5.00 a pop would cost $5,000,000. A brazilain bridge blanks would cost $5,000,000,000,000,000,000. Who does this guy think he's selling to? JJ, that guy is full of crap. There is no shipping company in the world that will ship a brazilian of anything.

Cheers!

Take 'em up on it, Hesh. Me wife and I got a $12 discount on a hotel room just by mentioning our AAAAAAARP status. (Just about the only recompense left in getting old.)

If I had to have spam, I'd much rather get the brazillian Rosewood ones than the ones that tell me that I need to improve the performance of apparatus I don't own!!!!!

I actually replied to the e mail,(BRW), and told the guy,"yes, I am interesting."

After a few weeks of resending my request to see photos, he provided photos of 3 sets lying on the ground.

He then asked if I was still "interesting"? I replied,"Yes, I am, but I do not wish to invest in illegal wood!"
